The China Toolkit

Everything you need for China is right here.

(Trip.com is the go-to for everything China. For Hong Kong and Macau it's worth comparing with Agoda too.)

1

China Visa

It's best to arrange your visa in advance rather than wait for the last minute. Many nationalities are eligible for a multiple-entry tourist visa valid for years, and citizens of around 45 countries enjoy visa-free entry altogether — check your passport before you start. Last-minute requests make the process more expensive and add unnecessary stress, so plan ahead.

2

Must-Have Apps

All apps can be downloaded from the app stores (App Store / Google Play). It's critical to arrive in China with Alipay already installed and working on your device, and a maps app installed and working (Apple Maps on iPhone, or Amap).

3

Flights (Domestic & International)

For domestic flights in China, Trip.com is usually best, and we've prepared direct links for you here. For international flights, it's worth comparing with Agoda and Booking too.

We're happy to help you choose travel routes by dates and the transport options that suit you in terms of timing, cost and personal needs.

4

Recommended Hotels

For each city we've selected a 5-star and a 4-star hotel — with a direct booking link via Trip.com.

Hotel links for more cities are being added here soon.

5

Trains

China's high-speed trains are an experience in themselves — expect incredible speeds and unmatched comfort. The recommended place to book is Trip.com, and we've prepared direct links for you.

Note: official ticket sales open about 15 days before travel. You can pay on the site now, and the tickets will be issued and sent to you on the day sales open — we highly recommend booking ahead so you're not left stuck. For clients who buy a trip package — we schedule and book the tickets for you.

6

Transfers Across China

You have VIP-class vehicles and English-speaking drivers at your disposal — you can also reach out to me directly. For special border crossings (Zhuhai–Macau–Hong Kong): crossing by private car over the world's longest bridge saves you a lot of time compared to the ferry — at a similar price and with maximum comfort. We can arrange it privately.

7

Attractions

We book attraction tickets through Klook — China's leading platform for advance tickets, with discounts and skip-the-line entry.
